First week back on our new project- completed.
We got our brief on puppetry and performing objects on Tuesday, I have to say, mr blog, I've never really been interested in puppetry, I'm more of a costume kind of gal. But, like everything else I've had no experience in this year, (namely PROPS- you cheeky things) Im going to give it my best shot...
So I have started my research starting with what I know, which began with some nostalgia. After our little group sat down and brainstormed ideas on our Beatles song, 'Mean old Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam'; and thought about what puppets we could make for it which fitted the lyrics, told a story, were a bit jazzy and had a bit of a metaphorical/deeper meaning to them. We had a little trip back to the 90's and the entertainment of our childhood.
My research starts with the muppets, a nice reminder that puppetry doesn't have to be grotesque and ugly to be funny...
